Artist / The development of my art involves constant evolution to new ideas and new forms. Progression and change are what I live for. My art gives me the opportunity to create different situations and environments from the landscapes in my mind. I like to break down and rebuild surfaces using various mixed media. Everything in my life and art intermingle into harmony for me.
I was born in Long Beach, California. After high school I spent a year in Detroit at the Center for Creative Studies. My time in Detroit helped form my interest in ?industrialism?. Parts of the urban landscape started to make their way into my art. Some of my themes deal with the dehumanization of our world and neighborhoods. How the destruction of our environment will force us to evolve into machines. We will gradually make the switch form ?natural? to ?mechanical? and develop the technology in order to survive.
I use a multi-faceted palette of mediums and surfaces. I draw from organic and mechanical forms so you cannot always pin-point them as robots or animals. To me they are about life and interaction ? a reflection of what I see day to day. As humans we long for acceptance and love and I believe that there is a force in us that seeks out these properties in others to make us whole. I love to push myself to come up with new ideas and characters and to discover new ways to express them.
